Question

Records Destruction

asked on April 1, 2019

Hello,

We are cleaning up files that are due for Records Destruction.

Don't have an issue when selecting a single document, however when selecting multiple documents, we receive the following error:

===================================================================

Error Code: 6000

Error Message: Invalid pointer

Invalid pointer   [6000:0x80004003] (Invalid pointer  )

------------ Technical Details: ------------

LF.exe (10.4.0.311):

    Call Stack: (Current)

        CRMDestroyPropPage::OnBnClickedBtnDestroy

        CMainFrame::OnRecordsManager

    Additional Details:

        Exception: 0x80004003 [6000] (Invalid pointer) (CRMDestroyPropPage::OnBnClickedBtnDestroy at rmdestroyproppage.cpp:58)

    Call History:

          CLFSecurity::GetEntryListing

         CRecordStatus::SummarizeStatus

         CRecordsManagerDialog::OnInitDialog

          CRecordsManagerDialog::OnTvnSelchangedTreeRm

          CRecordsManagerDialog::ShowFolderProperties

         IdleTimerProc

         CRMDestroyPropPage::OnBnClickedBtnDestroy

          CEntryStatus::ApplyDisposition

========================================================================

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as having to destroy all these records one at a time will take forever.

Thanks,

Robert.

This has been resolved.

As per LaserFiche instructions on destruction.

You can select an entire Records Folder for destruction, or you can select AN individual file within the records series for destruction, however you cannot select multiple individual files at once for destruction.

If you do not want to destroy all of the files within a Records Folder, you can place a ‘Hold’ ( found in records management actions) on the files that you wish to keep, and they will be preserved, while the rest will be destroyed.

Have you confirmed that all records have been cutoff or are otherwise eligible for destruction? Is it possible that some of them have have different retention schedules with dispositions?

Hi Rob, and thanks for your response.

Here is the response to your questions from our Coordinator of Legislative Services, who looks after our Records management.

Have you confirmed that all records have been cutoff or are otherwise eligible for destruction? Yes. If you go to the documents and into the records management actions under Record Folder Status – it says “Eligible for Destruction”.

Is it possible that some of them have have different retention schedules with dispositions? The destroy function within the records management actions does not appear at all on records that are not eligible.

Thanks, Robert

I am getting this error message when I highlight a single document and try to destroy it.   It is eligible for destruction.  Please advise.
