FORM: Clear fields from when a check box selection changes

asked on March 26, 2019

Hello!

I have a form that uses check box selection which opens hidden pages and/or sections.

Scenario:

Say user check marks choice 1 and 2 that opens pages A (for choice 1) and B (for choice B).

Fills out fields and drop down selections on pages A and B.

Decides doesn't need choice 1 and removes check mark.

Need:

Since choice 1 is no longer needed, how do I refresh page A to have no answers?

I've read through previous posts on resetting but I was wondering is there a script that will reset the page when the choice is no longer check marked?

Thank you for any suggestions and any help anyone can provide!

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you need to clear the fields? If you set the Field Rules to Ignore the data when they are hidden, then it won't save them when the form is submitted, so there isn't technically a need to clear them out.

Thanks Jason, I did not know that. While I was testing it out the functionality in preview mode I noticed that the previous entries stayed when selecting/deselecting the choice. Good to know that clearing the hidden fields won't be necessary!

Yea, the values will stay on the active form, but they will not be included in the submission if they are hidden and ignored.

One nice thing about that is that if they accidentally hide the wrong section, they won't have to fill it out all over again when they make it visible again.
