With Chrome already supporting it and Microsoft moving to Chromium for Edge as well as including PWA apps in it's app store, I think browser support will not be an issue. Allowing Laserfiche web products to take advantage of a systems notifications is probably the biggest advantage I see, but I can see how being able to user resources, device features, etc. would come in handy as well.
