Hello everyone,

I am working on a project to identify people in the photographs that I have scanned in the Laserfiche. Right now I make a sticky note with who is in the photo. But, if I want to print or send the picture, I have to save the information on the sticky note, remove the note, print or send picture, and then add a new sticky note with the information of who is in the picture. I feel like there should be a better way. I have tried putting the same information in the "text" section. I don't like doing this because if you OCR afterwards then the text you wrote will disappear. Please let me know how you identify people in the photographs that you have saved in Laserfiche.

Hey, Renee,

There is an option to omit annotations when downloading the image. In the web client, if you go to the Options page, under the Download section, you can choose to include annotations or not.

Thank you, Alex. That makes sense. I can still keep the sticky note for identifying people but deselect annotations before download. I will try this!

Hi Renee,

In addition to Alex's suggestion above, you may want to also consider creating a metadata field to keep this information! That way you can still display the names of the people you've identified alongside the image, and you won't have to worry about toggling your annotations when you want to send it out.

If you're already using a template with fields assigned to it, you can still create a standalone metadata field to enter in names. A multi-value field sounds like it would also be helpful because then you could save multiple names and use these values for searching, too.

Thanks you so much! I do like the idea of having a specific meta data field for naming who is in the photos. How would that work if I have multiple photos on the same scan. Can I have different meta data templates for each individual picture even if they are all on the same scan?
