Sanitization Tool

asked on March 18, 2019

Hi All,

I'm not all that familiar with the "sanitization tool" that adobe pro has, but I'm wondering if LF has something similar. We use the redaction tool to respond to FOI requests, and as far as I know, if you have adobe pro, you can "sanitize" the document to get rid of metadata that may identify the creator, etc. protecting personal information.

Is this something that LF does already or should do? I assume that by changing the document to a tif to redact in the first place, the original metadata disappears - but can someone confirm or elaborate?

Thanks,

Robyn

If you choose to keep the original PDF, Laserfiche won't modify it at all. You can, however, tell Laserfiche to not keep the PDF, and at that point it will be deleted and only the pages and Laserfiche metadata will remain.
