Question

Error : Weblink & WebAccess both receive error when downloading large zip files.

asked on March 11, 2019 Show version history

In Weblink when downloading large zip files, the following application error is in the event log:

Server error:

Exception: Ionic.Zip.ZipException

Message: Compressed or Uncompressed size, or offset exceeds the maximum value. Consider setting the UseZip64WhenSaving property on the ZipFile instance.

Client error

The client receives 2 errors in the browser “Export job thread not found”  which is caused by the initial error  “Session disconnected. Please refresh your page”

In WebAccess this happens when you set the download option to "Combine documents into one zip file" See attached screenshot.

Is there a way to stop the auto zip? Or add “zip.UseZip64WhenSaving = Zip64Option.AsNecessary;” to the code to increase the size limitation

Thanks for reporting this.  It appears to happen when the zip file exceeds 4gb, which is beyond what the original zip file specification can handle.  I've filed a bug to both products targeting the next releases.

Can I ask what kind of files you are dealing with that your zips end up being so large?

Can we turn off the auto .zip. This is for videos. Which we were able to down load in the previous version. 10g-12g.

There isn't an option to turn it off, but I believe it won't zip when the user tries to download a single document.

There is now an official bug open:

The Web Access bug # is 160138 and the Weblink bug # is 160140

Any update on this?   We are seeing the same problem.   We are using the web portal to transmit digital evidence to the district attorneys office and lots of cases are larger than 4gb.
