Question

View Active Sessions in LF Cloud/Disconnect Users

asked on March 1, 2019

Is there a way to view active sessions within a Laserfiche Cloud repository, and/or manually disconnect users?

What I mean....

With an on-premise installation, you can connect to the repository with the Administration Console and see an "Activity->Sessions" page where you are able to view the users currently logged in, the length of inactivity, and manually disconnect them if necessary.

I can see in the LF Cloud Repository Administration page the last login and last logout for each user, but I haven't found anywhere to see who is currently connected and/or a way to manually disconnect users.

There is currently no session list. Can you tell us more about why you manually need to disconnect users?

I have a client also requesting the same feature.  In their case, they noticed that if they disabled a user while they had a document open in Web Client on the Cloud, they can still view that document until they refresh the page.  They were hoping that by disconnecting them, it would also close or deny access to the page without needing to refresh.

Miruna,

I believe at the time of this post, we were actively performing some entry maintenance within a cloud repository. This involved moving entries around, re-arranging folders, changing groups, and changing access rights. During this maintenance, we advised that there shouldn't be any users logged into the repository, however without the session list, we could not verify whether or not any users were currently active before starting this maintenance.

I believe we went with the approach that Mike mentioned above, by disabling all of the users prior to starting this maintenance, but disabling a user doesn't disconnect them if they're already connected.

I believe we also found that we could somewhat tell if a user was connected, if their "Last Login Time" was after their "Last Logout Time", but we couldn't disconnect them. We'd have to get in touch with the user and ask them to logout of the repository for this maintenance window.
