Import agent Error (Not a valid Win32 FileTime. Parameter name: fileTime)

asked on February 28, 2019

Hi Everyone,

We are running Import Agent (Version 10.3.0.450) using multiple profiles, one of these profiles (profile X) is failing to import and is reporting the following error in the operational log, Event ID 15, Task Category DeleteError:

There was an error running the profile X while importing from "Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Library.LongDirectoryInfo". (Not a valid Win32 FileTime.
Parameter name: fileTime)

StackTrace:    at System.DateTime.FromFileTimeUtc(Int64 fileTime)
   at Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Library.Helpers.ConvertFileTimeToDateTime(FILETIME ft)
   at Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Library.LongFileSystemInfo..ctor(String file, WIN32_FIND_DATAW structFindData)
   at Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Library.LongFileInfo..ctor(String file, WIN32_FIND_DATAW structFindData)
   at Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Library.Helpers.FindFilesInfos(String source, String searchPattern)
at Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Service.ExecuteProfile.ExecuteProfileDirectory(LongDirectoryInfo di, Profile profile, ISettingProvider settingProvider, List`1 bypassFolders)

I have a test where I copied documents that are in the current monitored folder to a test folder then I change the profile to monitor the test folder and the documents were imported successfully.

Anyone know what is causing the error? and how to fix it?

Got an update for everyone.

One of the documents in the monitored folder did not have a created date. When this document was removed, Import Agent was able to continue processing the other documents in the folder.

Does anyone know if there is a way for Import Agent could skip over the problem document and continue to import the documents that don't have this issue?

Under post-processing, what do you have set up as the destination for files that could not be imported?

Typically, if Import Agent cannot process a document, it will move it into the designated error folder. If that is not happening, then it may be a bug.

Hi Jason,

We have the profile set to move to a subfolder (IAErrors) inside the monitored folder if there is an error.

In this case the document was not moved to this folder, it remained in the monitored folder.

For background info, the account running the Import Agent service has full read and write access and there are no errors logged related to permission issues.

Hi Adam,

Check the number of characters that have the name of the file, if it is too long, rename it to a shorter one and restart the Import Agent service.

Hi Adam,

Another solution is apply the hotfixes of Import Agent.

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would update this post with the current status. We tried updating Import Agent with the hotfixes but the problem still persists.

If a document in the Monitored folder has a blank creation date it will prevent all files from being processed and Import Agent will not move the file to an error folder.
