Hi, could you please help me to find the way to enable the "Office Web Apps Server" option functionality in the cloud environment...¿?
Thanks for your support.
At this time, you are not able to configure your own on-premises Office Web Apps Server (OWAS) with Laserfiche Cloud.
Microsoft has moved away from the Office Web Apps Server and replaced it with Office Online Server (OOS).
There are plans to integrate Laserfiche Cloud with Office 365 in order to provide the same functionality that OWAS/OOS provided for on-premises Laserfiche installations.
@████████should be able to speak to this in more detail.
Alex, ok. Thanks for your help!.
We have an on prem insatllation of Laserfiche Rio. Will that also be able to integrate with Office 365 so we don't need the to install and maintain a Microsoft Office Online Server to support Simultaneous Co-authoring of Microsoft Office Documents.
if it is my next question is if this is still correct "we are targeting our 2019.4 release in October for releasing our Office 365 "
The functionality is limited to Laserfiche Cloud. For self-hosted deployments, Microsoft requires the use of Office Online Server for co-authoring to work with Office 365.
Miruna,
It appears that Office Online integration has been implemented for Laserfiche cloud. However, I have a client in demo mode that we're trying to take live by this Friday and they receive an error that says there is a 5MB file size limit trying to open an Excel file from within their cloud repository. Is there any way that this file size can be increased? I have a support ticket in also.
Thanks!
This is not a Laserfiche limitation. Unfortunately, 5MB is the size limit in Office for web.
Hi Robinson, what functionality are you wanting to enable with "Office Web Apps Server"? Are you referring to the Office Document Preview and co-authoring functionality that we have for on-premise today?
If so, as Alex mentioned, we do not have this capability in cloud just yet and we are working on adding the functionality to cloud this year. For cloud, there will not be a required on-premise Office Online Server, but rather an Office 365 Business subscription to connect to Microsoft's Cloud Office Online Server.
Hi Ian, you're right, that's what we are looking for, but no problem just like you describe to us the integration is on the way so we must wait a little bit more to be able to offer it to our customers.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Ian could you please help me with an update if you know recent news about laserfiche cloud and Office 365 integration. Thanks!!
Hi Robinson, we are targeting our 2019.4 release in October for releasing our Office 365 Integration which will enable document preview and co-authoring functionality.
Hi Ian excellent!! thanks for your help with the update and we will be waiting for the release to try it. Bye.
