Import Agent - Is it possible to OCR PDFs without generating LF pages?

Hi all,

I read most of the related posts that popped up when I typed in the title for this one, and I think I already know the answer, but want to be as clear/explicit as possible:

Is there any way to generate searchable text for PDFs imported via Import Agent, without also generating Laserfiche pages for them?

It is no problem for me to do this via drag-and-drop into the client, but I have not figured out how to do this via IA and get the impression that it is not possible.

Is it possible to leverage DCC to generate text, sans pages? I didn't see many option for OCR configuration/document handling when I was poking around it on in Web Admin.

All advice/suggestions welcomed! Thank you!

Hi Rob,

If the PDFs have a text stream, you should be able to grab the text directly. However, if no text stream is present, OCR must be performed to obtain text.

Thanks, Justin. Unfortunately, most of the PDFs do not/will not have a text stream as they're coming from multiple different sources.
