Question

Quickfields and barcode 39

asked on February 18, 2019

Hi Everyone

I have a customer that has an invoice with a barcode 39. Here is the problem though.

I could NOT get the barcode to read at all in Quickfields.

I then tested the barcode in a 3rd party barcode reader and also had no luck. I then saw a setting called "max barcode value" and enabled it before I tested the barcode again.
With this setting enabled I was able to return a value similar to this:

056342*B12546*0035674+R

Is there a way that I can get Quickfields to read a barcode 39 with multiple Astrix (*) in it?

Sample: *Roy*Kotze*Noscotek*2019*

Value : Roy*Kotze*Noscotek*2019 or RoyKotzeNoscotek2019 will work as pattern matching can be used to extract the individual values.

The asterisk (*) is considered a control character in code 39 barcodes and it is not a valid character for values.
