Need a Workaround - Dynamic Fields in Web Access

asked on February 15, 2019

Looking for some help finding a work around.  We are currently on Web Client 10.2.1.362.  We have people attempting to import files and put metadata on but the template has dynamic fields (with parent fields) and after the first file of the day, they cannot get the dynamic fields to work.

The first file of every day works fine.  They can pick all the fields. See the right side of the screenshot.  Every single file after that they try to put the metadata on and the fields stall out at Application Type.  See the left side of the screenshot.

This happens in IE, Edge, and Chrome.  It happens if they put the metadata on when importing and it happens if they try to put it on after the import.  It does not happen in the desktop client.

We have tried clearing the browser cache.  We have tried logging out of LF and back in.  Nothing changes.

We had an issue like this a while ago and there was some user setting in their profile that had to be changed but for the life of me I can't remember what the setting was.  I think it had to do with refresh or timing.

Due to department constraints I can't give the user the desktop client.  I know it is fixed in 10.3 but due to programs we interact with, we can't go to 10.3 yet.

I would really love to find this person a work around since they can basically only upload or import 1 file a day.  This is really hindering their work.

Thanks.

Hi Jennifer,

Did your Solution Provider open a case for this issue with Laserfiche Support? If so, could you forward the case number?

If you don't want to update to 10.3 due to the effort involved updating LFS, there is way you can update Web Client to 10.3 without updating LFS. I would tell your Solution Provider to open a case with Laserfiche Support if you haven't already, and we can pass instructions to you from there.

Thank you.  It's not that we don't want to go to 10.3 but we interface with another program and until they can certify that they work with 10.3 we can't go up.

Our workaround was to build a form that let's her pick the same information as the template and upload multiple files.  Since the form populates off the same SQL table but does not link to the template in any way we have gotten around it.

Thanks.
