Question

Flexible Records Management in Laserfiche v.10.4

asked on February 15, 2019

Hi

Does the flexible records management using the automated workflow process require purchasing the Records Management module? We set up RM in 2005 and used the Records Management function.

Thank you!

Yes, Records Management (flexible or traditional) is  only available with a Records Management license in the repository. The Workflow activities for records management are always available, but the Laserfiche Server will prevent any record creation without a proper license.

Does Flexible Records Management still meet the certifications of DoD5015.2 and VERS?

Hi Richard,

I believe there's already a discussion with your organization regarding this in the support emails, but in general, flexible records management is tangential to the actual DoD 5015.2 certification (and has no overlap with VERS which is focused on document integrity features such as volume checksums). Both certifications are really about application capabilities - basically, can the application in question (in this case Laserfiche), support organizations needing the set of functionality contained in the certification. Flexible records management is enhancements to RM-related functionality above and beyond the capabilities required for the certification, and as such simply provides organizations more options to choose what best meets their compliance needs.
