Question

Can a Workflow trigger an 'On an event' in Windows Task Scheduler

asked on February 14, 2019

Hello,

I have a script in Windows Task Scheduler that works with our CRM.  I would like this Windows Task to start 'On an Event' when a form submission is selected.   I see that in Windows Task Scheduler you can select LFWorkflow if LFWorkflow is installed.  LFWorkflow is not installed on the CRM server, but if we did install it, could we use Workflow to trigger a Windows Task.

Additionally, if this could be done, what selections do you make on the task trigger in order to be triggered by a specific workflow?

Let me know if you need more information.

Hi Rolayne,

Your post was quite some time ago, but I was wondering if you ever found an answer on how to do this.  We would like to do something similar.

Thank you for any help.

Laserfiche has not tested it, but it will likely work.

You should be able to create the rule through the Workflow Designer, then modify it in Windows Task Scheduler to add or change the trigger. The settings on the action tab dictate what workflow to start.

It may not be possible to open the rule from the Workflow Designer afterwards and making changes to it from the Designer may remove your custom trigger.

Thank you.  I'll give it a try.
