"Search Repository" activity on LF Cloud

We were about to pull the trigger on an LF Cloud purchase, but then found out it doesn't have the "Search Repository" activity. This is such an integral part of our workflows that we decided to slam on the brakes and reconsider.

Is there a timeframe for when this activity will be added? I'm looking for something a bit more specific than "next release" or "soon", since it will determine our strategy for the system in question (i.e. we'll go with on-prem if we have to wait another 6 months).

We need this activity to move forward with workflows for our Cloud customers as well.

Hi Jen,

Can you elaborate on the specific use cases you have for the Search Repository function on cloud? The search itself can be resource intensive and will add up if used in a loop. We want to get an understanding of your use cases so we can design the activity to address your business needs while minimizing the performance impact.

Hi Ege,

Currently, we are looking to work on this activity in the next quarter and have it released as part of our 2019.3 or 2019.4 release. Timeline is not firmly set yet due to the resource constraints mentioned in our email exchange. However, we do appreciate your feedback in regards to the specific use case scenarios and we are investigating with our developers to see if we are able to offer a solution that can address the business needs while minimizing performance impacts.

My client needs to be able to search the repository for folders containing information related to retrieved field values and then move the imported document to that folder.

I'm also curious about an update on this. I have a client who wants a search repository option for workflows because they have document types filed in various subfolders that they want to be able to find and rename/move.

I would also be interested in an update on this. I have several cases in one process where this is necessary. For instance, updating an invoice created in forms with the paid invoice (also saved from forms) - I'd like to search the repository with workflow for it and delete it since a more up to date version is available. I have several other cases and can elaborate if needed.
