Feature Request: Link Forms username and Display name in LFDS

posted on February 12, 2019 Show version history

Would like to be able to route forms to users that are pulled in via lookup rule directly to their displayed name without having to create a hidden field that also pulls their Forms recognized username and route to that. LFDS currently does not link the displayed name and the LFDS username (DomainName\firstinitallastname).

Thanks for the feature idea. I've included this idea in our Forms feature ingestion portal for review.

Right now, Forms has to use usernames to route tasks because they are the unique identifier that every user has. Display names can be changed and are not necessarily unique.

Understood. Thank you! The only thnk i could think of would be to add the email or username next to the display name as it is populated in the form so that there is some identifying features for that individual. This would allow for "display name" routing.

I want to be able to route to the Active Directory user, which i  understand can have two identical names, but combining the display name with the unique identifier would save an additional lookup rule per Display Name. I know it does not sound like much, but each name that is populated form a lookup table now also needs a lookup rule to identify it, which is redundant. Both identifiers reference the same person. So the trick would be gettign Forms to recognize the user through their unique LF identifier.
