Question

Step 3 to input the activation code - localhost refused to connect

asked on February 12, 2019 Show version history

I downloaded and installed RPA, but when I attempt to copy the activation code to http://localhost:10001/preview/RPAPreviewHome I see this on the page:

I also get the same page with attempting to launch the RPA Preview.

Hi Craig,

I think it is caused by the Firewall settings. RPA preview service will verify the authentication code against Laserfiche Cloud. So it means the service needs to be able to access the Internet. Could you try add a Outbound rule for Windows Firewall for the service? It is not a good practice for the installer to add that rule automatically. So please do it manually.

I was trying to use a domain service account to run the service and the service wouldn't start.  I changed to run the RPA service to run as Local Service and I get the page now.  When I copy the activation code I get this error:

Hi Craig,

To check the easy solution first, are there any internet connectivity issues? The authentication requires internet.

There are no connectivity issues that I'm seeing.  Is there a specific site/port that I can test against to verify?

Everything on our network is denied by default so I will need the destination and ports so I can have our security team enable this connection.
