Laserfiche Forms 10.4 Functionality with Reports and Teams

Good Afternoon,

One of our clients had looked into the new functionality of Forms 10.4 and noticed that there is a feature to email Teams in the Email Service Task.

What we need to know though is whether you can filter who from the team gets the email? Or does the email just get sent out to Team as a whole?

If Laserfiche could please provide any additional insight on this it would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I believe the end users would like to essentially have the functionality of sending out emails that have been filtered down a person from a team. Kind of like the User Task where it can be assigned to a Team but filtered down specifically to a role or person.

That is exactly right Charles. Thank you for mentioning this. The new feature would be much more dynamic and usable if we could use the same JavaScript filters we have already built for teams.

Thanks for the info. We actually heard this request a handful of times at our user conference this week so looks like it's a pretty popular one. Hopefully we can get to it soon.

Has there been any development on this feature? It would really help to simplify my processes as well as making the email tasks dynamic so I don't have to modify a handful of processes whenever someone changes positions within the organization.

We are currently targetting Forms 10.5 for this feature.

In Forms 10.4, you can send an email out to an entire team. There is no support for filtering to a subset of the team. What did you have in mind for a filter?

Hi Jared. I want to use the same JavaScript team filters I have already built for assigning user tasks and use them within the email service task. Rarely would I want to email an entire team about a specific process.

Many of my teams are campuses with roles such as Nurses, Registrars, Principals, Assistant Principals, Counselors, etc. For a use case example, I have a discipline related Forms process and I want to email the Principal and Assistant Principals at some point in the process. My choices are to over-communicate and email the entire team or hardcode the Principal and Assistant Principal. If I could leverage the Javascript team filters in the email service task I could email just the roles that needed the communication.

Please let me know if you need more info and if this will be considered for a future release.
