Question

Web Access redirection

asked on February 1, 2019

Hello everyone,

We are trying to automatically redirect requests coming from a DMZ server into an internal server.

Let me elaborate. I will use A for DMZ and B for the internal server as naming conventions.

Laserfiche WebAccess is installed on A as well as B. I can access WebAccess from A to B simply by replacing localhost with B's computer name or B's IP for sure. But in my scenario, I would like the request sent from A upon typing localhost/Laserfiche to be automatically redirected to B, in other words, B_ipaddress/Laserfiche.

I tried creating rules (enabling proxy, inbound and outbound rules) in IIS, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Any advice on this topic based on your experience would be appreciated.

Note that: not necessarily for Laserfiche WebAccess only. This will be useful for WebLink as well, maybe Forms too.

Thank you

It sounds like your goal is to have everyone use the Web Access instance on B, right?  Then you don't need it installed on A.  Instead, you want to configure A as a reverse proxy for B.  See this article or this one.

Thank you for your answer!

I visited the exact URLs you mentioned in your comment but it didn't work.

It's either missing something or i misinterpreted the information provided.

I will restart my work and hope I get it right this time.

Thanks for the feedback.
