Web Distribution Portal and the SDK

Hi all,

If a company has purchased the Web Distribution Portal license can they create a custom application, using the LF SDK, that authenticates using the Portal license?

The business case is to allow a customer to write their own integration to display a list of documents, rather that to iframe the Weblink product.

I don't know about the licensing issue, but couldn't they query the database directly, and display the documents that way? Then make sure that the list links to the actual WebLink path to the document.

It's certainly a fall-back position but I'll try to avoid direct SQL calls if possible,

I believe public portal licensing applies only to WebLink and not to generic read-only connections.
