Laserfiche App (Mobile) - SSL error

asked on January 8, 2019

Hi, we implemented the Laserfiche Mobile App a while ago but just recently actually started using it.

The app works great on our network, however outside of it, we can't connect into it. The error we get is:

"An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made."

The URL we use is https (valid wildcard certificate was applied to the site), if we change it to http, then we get:

"No internet connection. To view offline forms and documents, use the "Offline Mode" option from the Sign-In page or "Offline Copies" from the menu. Do you want to view offline forms and documents?"

SSL (Laserfiche Server) has been checked on the Mobile Server Configuration page, but we tried it with it unchecked as well.

What are we missing? I will work through https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.2/en-US/AdminGuide/LFAdmin.htm#Using_SSL_TLS.htm to see if that helps. It is just odd that it all works fine internally but not externally.

Hi Lidija, Is your mobile server set up in a DMZ environment? If the server is only located behind your organization's firewall, it would only be accessible from within your network.

Sarah, thank you for your response! We actually figured it out a few days after posting this - when we did server migrations a few months ago, the new server's IP address wasn't in the firewall rule to allow external access on the port we needed. So our webclient and app were available within the network just not externally.

Glad to hear it's resolved! Thanks!
