Lost duplex scanning and getting error "This document does not contain an electronic file"

asked on January 8, 2019

I work in an office of about 60 people and 4 people in our legal team use Laserfiche 10.3 regularly. Last week one user started having scanning issue. It stopped doing duplex scanning (no longer an option in the dropdown) and the single sided pages she does scan when saved say "This document does not contain an electronic file".

I dug through all the scanner options, verified its set to TWAIN driver, correct scanner selected.
I ended up reinstalling LF and the scanner drivers but issue was not resolved. (Fujitsu 7160)

The 7160 is the only USB3 based scanner in house so I switched it out for an older 6140 USB2 model. I can now do duplex scanning again but I still get the same electronic file error when saving anything anywhere.

Does anyone have any info on this error?

I dug around the board and only found one unresolved issue.

The resolution was to clear the attributes for that user from the admin console.

One of my end users started getting this error today for every document scanned using twain. I gave a test account the same permissions and was able to see the pages - no error. Very perplexing to say the least. I'm still troubleshooting this, if I find the answer I'll be sure to let you know.
