Question

Search LF Client for Electronic File with No Image available

asked on January 2, 2019

Hello,

I am trying to see if there is a way to search a series of Folders, in the LF Client, that have PDF's in them, that show the Electronic File, but has no Image associated with the file.

Reason- A customer dragged and dropped a bunch of PDF's into a series of folders and for some reason the Image was not generated for the file.

I believe that there was a period of time when the user did not have the Generate LF page selected in their LF Client->Options->New Documents->Settings->When importing PDF's generate LF Pages.

This has since been fixed.

Thanks,

Jeff Curtis

Jeff,

The client search (and search syntax) has options that will allow this.

  1. Electronic File
  2. Pages

It sounds like what you want is to search for documents with an Electronic File, which contain 0 pages. You can also target a specific file extension and a parent folder if needed.

This would look like the following in the desktop client search

The key syntax this generates is {LF:Ext="*"} & {LF:pagecount = 0}

Which means an entry with any electronic file AND no pages.

Since you're only looking for PDF, you could set that by checking the "with one of the following extensions:" option under Electronic File and highlighting "pdf"

You may also consider adding the username of the individual who imported the documents. If you added that to the search criteria mentioned above you may get pretty favorable results.
