Does the deletion of old forms instances improve the overall performance of Laserfiche forms?

After reading these 2 answers posts, I believe it might.

^it gets into how to clear out all the data from the database as well as the instances from the Forms interface. It looks like if you are on version 10.1 or later, you can just delete the instance and all the database data is deleted also.
On this post, it asked a key question: "what about the attachments???"
^I wasn't clear on if they get deleted with the deletion of an instance. This is something you'll want to find out! There is no need for an attachment if the instance has been deleted, right? I guess it is possible to want to keep an attachment for retention purposes. Depends on what you are doing, really.
