Weblink Custom Search Forms save location

asked on December 11, 2018

When you create a custom search form in Weblink version 10.x, does it save only on the web server or does some of the configuration get saved in the repository?

The reason I ask is I want to create the custom search on a non production web server and then copy it to my primary web server once it is complete and tested out.

Everything is saved in the WebLink configuration files.  You don't need to migrate anything within the repository.

If you go into Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink\WebLink\Web Files\Custom there is a folder for searchforms, but it might not be as simple as Copy & Paste.

In the folder for the repository the form will be associated with, there's also a searchformslist XML and you may need to add an entry for the form to that list as well.
