Question

Weblink functioning correctly in Chrome/Firefox/Safari but not IE?

asked on December 9, 2018

Hi guys,

Our customer complained that they were getting no folder lists, blank screens, and login issues when using WebLink (v10.1.0.60).  It's a new install so I had done a lot of testing and not encountered any such issues.  I tested from various computers but didn't run into the problem so connected onto their LF Admin's computer and encountered the same issues as they were seeing, but only in IE 11.  Clearing the IE cache and history seemed to "release" something and it started working again, but it was intermittant, sometimes the folder lists would populate, other times they wouldn't ... or I would log in as one user and be presented with data for another user that I had logged in with previously (we're providing secure access to user files so all accounts have to log in).  I then went to another Windows computer on our company's network and tested the WebLink access via IE and it hung at "Loading" the Browse screen.  Whilst hanging, I launched Chrome, logged in with the same account, and browsed to the folders with no problems:

So it only seems to be an issue with IE.  Has anyone else encountered this or know if there's an IE setting that gets in the way of WebLink?

Thanks,

Mike

This looks like a compatibility mode issue. WebLink does not work in compatibility mode, and it is common for this to happen when the "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" is enabled.

I hadn't found that info, thanks very much for that Jason, I'll check and see if that's what is going on in this situation, it sounds very much like it.

That's where I'd place my bets. I've run into this before and that ended up being the issue.

FWIW - I was having the same issue with Web Client 10.4 in IE 11.  Turning off the "Display Intranet Sites in Compatibility View" option solved the issue.

Thanks!
