As the Administrator, I would like to have a specific Saved Search be the Default for Everyone when opening the Web Client.
How can I add a Default Saved Search for all users?
Under advanced search I created the custom search. Once that was completed I copied the syntax to the manage custom quick search on the search bar drop down. Finally I exported the CustomQuickSearchXml from my attributes properties in the admin console and imported it to the other users. The users then had to select the search and it became their default.
Hope that helps
Thanks Bill, I will try this. I have done this in the past for the older version but the screens are a little different so I wasn't sure how to do this. I will try it and post here when done if it works for everyone.
Note that as of Laserfiche 10.3 you can push out saved searches and quick searches (among other items) to groups directly through the UI when you are saving or modifying them without having to go mess with user attributes.
Justin,
I saw that where when I saved a search I could select Everyone. Does that make it available to Everyone group?
Robin
please, Could you give me more details (step by step) on how to share saved searches with certain groups of users? I am looking forward to your response. Thank you
Lourdes,
From your Web Client, Click on the Advanced link to the right of the Search Repository box.
Select the type of search you want to use, I've used Field here to do a Template Search. When all looks like you want, click SAVE.
The following box will pop up and enter the Name of your Search, then select "Apply to the following group" and type in "Everyone", this is a default group to include all Laserfiche users. Then click Save.
From one of your users PC's, click the Advanced link like before and at the top right of that screen select Saved Searches drop-down and you should see your saved searches for Everyone in the list.
I hope this helps you out!
Robin
