We recently upgraded from 8.3 to 10.2 and with that we upgraded all users' Desktop Applications. If we were to upgrade to 10.3, would we again need to upgrade all the desktop clients or is the server backwards compatible with the client?

Question
If we upgrade to 10.3 will the 10.2 Client still be compatible?

The 10.2 client shouldn't give you any major issues; you may be missing some of the 10.3 enhancements, but in my experience the client works fine with newer server versions, just not the other way around.
90% of our users stayed on the 10.1 client after we upgraded to 10.2 and it wasn't an issue; however, the farther out of sync the versions get the more likely you are to run into unusual behavior.

To follow up on Jason's comment - yes, the Laserfiche Server is fully backwards compatible with the Laserfiche web and Windows Clients. You will obviously not be able to access new functionality, and it's encouraged to not get too far out of sync. Also, it's encouraged to use the same version administrative console.
