Question

find user by ID in Active Directory

asked on November 7, 2018

I am able to find users using any of the available properties such as Display Name, Account Name, Email, etc., however, I cannot use the ID and I get the message "No user was found with search value '123123' in user provider 'AD\...'. [0247-WF1].

When I get a successful search (for instance by email), the token for finduser_id looks like this:

and not the 6 digit ID actually used.

When using the Active Directory Users and Computers utility by Microsoft, the search by  user ID works.

I doubt this is a Laserfiche issue but maybe someone has already ran into this and can provide some help?

Thanks.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "6 digit ID'. Can you clarify which user attribute you're referring to? Workflow uses the user SID for searches, but other AD attributes can be added to the trustee providers as custom properties.

Hi Miruna,

That ID is our custom attribute in AD which is our payroll ID. I will look through the resource you provided to see if can map that field. thanks.
