We just upgraded a customer to Avante 10.3.1 The customer states that they are now missing some random documents. The volumes were not touched and SQL was not touched during the upgrade. I have checked the recycle bin and they are not there. In order for them to completely be removed they would have to be deleted from with in the repository and purged from the recycle bin. Any suggestions??

Question
without having audit trail is there a way to check for deleted records

Hi John,
I don't know of any process during an upgrade which would delete documents.
Are you able to restore a backup of the DB from before the upgrade to validate what the user is saying?
What version did they upgrade from? If it's a particular old version (say, 7 or earlier), there is a much more involved backend migration process (not that it should be removing documents still). I'm assuming that's not the case here though?
As Chris notes, nothing during the upgrade process should be impacting actual data. However note that the upgrade process WILL often involve re-indexing the full text search catalog. If by 'missing some random documents' the customer means they are not coming up in search results, it might be simply that the search catalog has not finished re-creating, as that can take some time depending on the size of the repository.
There is no way to view for deleted documents without audit trail, that's basically the point of it.
