Question

Laserfiche volume size full

asked on October 30, 2018

We have a 1 terabyte volume configured currently with logical volumes of 20 gigabyte, the volume storage is full and users are unable to scan , we have increased the size of the current volume to 1 terabyte more but it has not effect on the volume configured in Laserfiche, still users are unable to scan,

Please provide a solution on how to resolve the storage issue of current volume (as we have increased)

Creating a new volume will solve this ..? the current scanned documents should still be visible and searchable, old documents in current volume and new documents in new volume will be merged ..?

Please see the screens for the current volume configuration (currently storage has reached full)

Hi Muneeb,

Add a new disk/drive to your server, and change the path of the logical volume (the silver one in the admin console) to the new disk you have configured. This should then roll over onto the new disk.

Good luck!

Thank you for the answer but we need more elaboration.

1- we are using a shared storage path that is full, increasing the size of the current storage did not had any effect.

2- Default is the physical and till default000046 are the logical volumes

3- changing the path of physical volume to new storage , what about the current files we have we want to retain them as they are to be searchable and viewable by a user,

4- if we want to add the new storage what should be the steps so current volume and the new volumes are merged and user can see files from both the volumes using Laserfiche client.

if you can assist step wise the resolution please.

Hi Muneeb,

I think you may be getting a little lost here. You will need to change the path of the root logical volume in order to roll over to a different drive. The existing physical volumes will still be accessible as they always have been.

I've attached 2 white papers here which will explain how volumes work, have a read through and you will know what you need to do next and have a better understanding.
