Question

Question

Incorrect creation time of files

asked on October 30, 2018 Show version history

Where does Laserfiche get the date and time the document was created?

The time of the server is 14:36, but Laserfiche creates the document with time of 15:36. 1 hour later.

On volume, the files are with the correct time

Daylight saving time here in Brazil will only start on November 4th.

The database is a Sql Express on the same machine.

I'm having the same issue. I'm curious if you found a solution?

Also curious about this, have a client experiencing the same issue of the created/last modified times being 6 hours off.

Any news about that? We have a customer with the same issue.

We have a customer with this same issue. No answer from Laserfiche?

I always thought it was the SQL server time?

The value is stored in the SQL database, but most date time values are stored in UTC and translated by the client application into the user's timezone. If you are seeing a discrepancy, I would start by making sure all of the machines in the solution have up-to-date definitions for timezones and especially DST rules.

Here in Brazil the DST was cancelled last and this year (right now it was suposed to be on), I guess this has something to do with this issue. I've checked the server and client machine's configs and DST is turned off. The hour on Windows is displayed correctly but on LF Client (on the server and on a regular PC) the creation date time is shown with +1 hour (example: I've created a new folder on 14:30h but LF client creation date shows 15:30h). How can I check these definitions for timezones and DST rules?
