Question

Dynamically change email address

asked on October 30, 2018

Hi All,

We send pdf form from the repository to help desk using outlook.  The help desk uses the email address from the “From” field of that email to sends back the form received confirmation.

We have created a new form that is saved in the repository, and then it is sent to the Help Desk using Workflow Email Activity.

Is there any way to dynamically change the sender's email address in “Email” activity in Workflow.

Thanks

Hi Naveed,

This can be done by using a token in the Advanced properties for the sender's email address. It doesn't look like you can because there is no token selector arrow at the end of the box, but you can...just make sure you put the proper syntax, i.e. percentage sign and parentheses around the token:

As a security measure, most email servers are configured to not allow impersonating any inbox this way.

No, but you can set the reply-to property in the Email activity's advanced properties.

Hi Miruna,

I assume you mean that you can also set the "Reply To" value based on a token? I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work. This would be a very useful feature.

Thanks

Sheldon
