Lookup Rule clears fields when page re-loads or saved as draft

asked on October 29, 2018

Hi, I am creating multiple forms that require lookup fields for the user to select data from a DB table. An issue I am running into is when I have a lookup rule on a field and the form is saved or loaded again all of the data selected from the DB is emptied/cleared.

For example Form A has a a drop down box that is populated with options that the user can select. The user selects an item in the list and then saves as draft. The selection is cleared after the page reloads. Similarly, if the user, instead, submits the form and the data is supposed to be sent to the next user using the same field variable. Form B uses the same variables and are supposed to be editable for the user to select a different entry, if the first user makes a mistake. Although, when the a lookup rule is attached on the field variable, the data that is passed along is lost and the field is empty/cleared.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Is it possible to prevent the initial lookup rule process (on load) for it to be ran later with autofill?

Which version of Forms are you running? The problem with drafts losing lookup data sounds like a bug we encountered in I believe 10.2 and it was fixed in one of the updates.

Hi Jason, I am using Laserfiche Forms version 10.1.0.559.

I would try updating a Test environment to see if it resolves the issue because 10.1 may be when the issue first appeared (it has been awhile so I'm not 100% sure exactly what version we were on when it was first encountered).

Thanks, it may take some time before we can have the server updated. We don't have much of a test environment but I'll see what we can do.
