Question

Create duplicate forms submission

asked on October 23, 2018

We are using a Laserfiche form as a sign-in sheet for classes, trainings, meetings, etc. One of our staff keys in the title, presenter, location, number of hours, date, and those attending. The next form then adds signature fields next to the names of those attending for actual sign-in. Final form comes back to our staff who uploads any handouts/materials associated with the session and then it's all saved to the repository.

My question: Is there a way to create a duplicate forms submission so that if a session has multiple dates our staff still only has to key all of this in one time? For example, for a two-day training requiring sign-in for both days, could we key in the information for day 1 and then somehow click something that would copy all the information into a second form, change the date, and have our day 2 sign-in ready to go?

I'm hoping to avoid resorting to workflow as I don't have access to use it, and our IT staff are swamped with projects right now. Appreciate any ideas!

One way to do this would be to add a field (checkbox or text) on your form to designate it as a 2 day class.  Then downstream in your business process add an Inclusive Gateway followed by an Exclusive Gateway that would branch if the class is a 2 day class based on that new field.  Then you could copy your info into a new form and assign it to the user.  Here's a quick 'untested' visualization to give you an idea of something that may work.
