Question

Group Instances By Label

asked on October 18, 2018

It is great that we can change the column header labels in Forms reports so the end user does not have to see our variable names.  However, I have found a place where that does not appear to be possible but is still needed.  If I build a Summarized report with a Type of Table, the Group Instances By column does not allow me to put a custom label on that column's header but instead names it "Grouped By: " followed by the variable name.

Has anyone found a way to do this or is this just something that will need to wait until the next version?

Hi Beau,

Thank you for the feedback, we currently don't support this feature. Do you mind provide us some user cases? So we can add this item into our backlog.

Best,

No problem.  In this case this report is to be seen by the campus heads so they can see who is traveling during what dates from each campus.  It is confusing for the end user to see nice names for this value in the columns (e.g. "Campus") but then see the header "Grouped By: Employee_DeptCampus" above the names of the campuses.  The people viewing the reports should never have to see variable names as they often are confusing.
