Forms - Can't delete variables from copied business process

asked on October 16, 2018

BP= Business process

Hi all,

I copied a BP in Forms and renamed/modified it along with it's one form.

When I try to delete a variable that isn't used in the form or BP I get this error:

This action can only take place on a global process. [LFF316-NotRootProcess]

I am also unable to retrieve the variables in BP or invoke the BP from workflow.

Ideas?

I am getting a the same error with a Process Diagram, but it contains no BPs and the error happens when an attempt is made to unpublish the process for some reason. I haven't seen much documentation on this error code on Answers anywhere else, unfortunately.

Any one have any possible leads for our error codes?

I'm getting the same error when I try to include the variable in the instance and task description. Were you able to figure out how to delete the variables?

I am getting the same error when trying to delete a forms variable that is no longer used in the process.  Were you able to resolve this issue?

When I initially copied my business process I got an error, but everything seemed to work fine. I ended up running into issues like not being able to delete form variables and other actions. The only way I found to get around those problems was to re-copy that original business process, ensure I didn't get any errors, and then make the planned changes.

Thanks for the update, Thomas.  In my case, the form was created in a newer version of Forms and then copied to a system using an older version.  I ended up opening the version in Forms 10.4, removing the extra variables and then recopying it to the other system. This resolved the issue for me.
