Mobile - Forms losing data

posted on October 3, 2018 Show version history

Hello All,

Just a quick question and maybe this is resolved in the latest version of LF Mobile...

One thing that we’ve discovered during testing is that if the users stop filling out the Form through the iOS LF Mobile app and come back later, we lose the data entered into the Form when they come back to it.

Anyone else experience this issue?  Was this resolved in the latest release?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jon,

I was wondering if I could get more details so that I can reproduce the problem. This is what I tried: I started a process and entered some data into it. I then opened a lot of different apps and then returned to Laserfiche. The form still held the data I had entered earlier. Would you be able to tell me if this is offline forms or online forms? What steps do I need to perform to reproduce it?

iOS could be closing Laserfiche after a period of inactivity. Have you tried saving a draft? I think that feature might be able to help you.

  1. Start a form.
  2. Fill out part of the form.
  3. Press the "Save as Draft" button at the end of the form.
  4. Give it a name and press "save" in the dialog that pops up.
  5. If you want to continue working on your draft later on in the day you can hit the hamburger menu button > My Tasks. Then select the "Drafts" tab.
  6. You should see a draft with the name you entered in step 4.
  7. Now you can open it up and continue working where you left off!
