Question

Next task's assigned user based on variable

asked on October 3, 2018

Hello all,

In LF Forms, I am trying to design a BP with the following:

After form is submitted, a user reviews and edits it, then manually enters the next user it should go to. Is it possible to have this variable determine the user assignment of the next task? I know the team can be assigned based on variables, but how can we assign a user based on variables?

(For reference, we have a complex distribution of work duties that are not easily assigned to teams or specific people based on the form type.)

In short, yes, you can assign a user task based on a variable. I would recommend pulling a list of users from a database via a lookup, and having the user select the next person using a list field. Typing the next approver manually would be error prone.
