Question

Custom error messages in Web Client

asked on October 3, 2018

Hi all,

I've had a request for a custom error message from a customer. When a document is inaccessible in Web Client, due to lack of permissions (in this example, a security tag), Web Client simply replies with "Entry not found."

I can see the security benefits (if a person hasn't got security to see even the file name, why should they even know it exists). But as the customer has asked the question, I'd like to know, are there any easy and supported methods to fulfil their request.

The context here is that they have been given a url to DocView.aspx with the id of a document they don't have access to?  Or something else?

Hi Brian,

Is this still the case? For our Client:

The web client, when left open on a users screen, is responding with this page when the session times out (presumably due to inactivity). A standard, clean error message is preferable. Is that possible?
