Attach Document to Workflow Invoked Form

asked on September 24, 2018 Show version history

When using Workflow to Invoke a Business Process in Forms, is it possible to attach a document from Laserfiche to that invoked Form?  The goal is that documents that come into Laserfiche from a nightly import go through approval in Forms.  We'd like to use Forms for approval instead of Laserfiche as Forms is much more dynamic and user-friendly for this process.

Thanks for the feature idea. I've included this idea in our Forms feature ingestion portal for review.

We are having more and more requests for this functionality.  Any word on if/when we will be able to use Workflow to attach a document to a form?

You can't really attach a document from the repository to a form, but you could embed a link to the document in an iFrame on your form.

Here's an answers article that will help:  https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/77257/Build-Weblink-URL-from-entry-id-variable-passed-to-form-from-workflow#77279

I am currently doing the WebClient method but they want to be able to replace the document via the form.  I am allowing them to attach a new document and then having Workflow remove the existing one but they are still requesting the original to be in the form as an attachment.  Hopefully we can add attachments to the Forms via Workflow in the future.
