Is there a way to set folder specific access rights to template fields in a specific folder?
Folder/Repository rights are separate from Template/Field rights, so there's no way to allow edits to only specific fields in one folder but not another.
The only options for specific folders would be to Allow, Not Allow, or Deny the ability to edit fields in general, and individual fields would be handled with Template/Field permissions.
Why is it that you want to restrict certain fields only in certain folders?
So, in general I do not want staff to edit contract template fields, however, when they are submitting a contract I would like staff to be able to enter 2-3 fields to kick-off the workflow in an "incoming folder".
I'm not sure you'll really be able to do exactly what you want if they still need to make changes to other fields within the other folders.
The only viable approach I see would be to use a different template initially, then change to one that does not allow edits after the workflow is triggered.
