Adobe iFilter and Microsoft Filter Pack

I am migrating Laserfiche to a new server, do I need to install Adobe iFilter and Microsoft Filter Pack?

Hi Ali,

My experience has been the opposite to Craig's. Without the filter pack, the indexing engine throws errors for MS Office documents.

Same with PDFs but these days I install the latest Acrobat Reader, rather than PDF iFilter v9.

I've installed many Laserfiche systems and have never installed either of those software packages.  So unless you have a specific need for them, you won't need to install them to run Laserfiche.

Yes, I guess you are right. I will monitor the index log and if there is a need for filter I will install it.
