If there's no one with experience with this system you can call on, then finding the relationship between the primary index/contents table and the file store is your first task. This can be achieved without documentation and most companies don't document their database.

Next would be to decide if you'll use workflow, import agent, vb. Net or a custom tool to generate an import set and run the import.

Do you have the skills in house to do this?
