Question

Connector will not create a profile

asked on September 21, 2018

I am trying to create a Connector Profile using Chrome and keep getting the error "Chrome is not configured correctly.  Follow these instructions to configure Chrome".  I have went over the instructions and added --force-renderer-accessibility to the properties of Chrome but still no luck.  I am able to get the red box around my browser when adding a source application but when I select "UI Automation to find controls" and drag the crosshairs to the browser it will not pick up the URL of the site.  If I manually type it in I still receive the error message.  Connector works fine setting up a profile using IE or Firefox but can't get a profile created in Chrome.  I am using the latest version of Connector with update 1 (10.3.0.273).  Any suggestions?

Best regards,

Michael

It's 4 months later and there still don't seem to be any solid solutions to this question on Laserfiche Answers

Hello Sarah,

Working with my solutions provider I was able to come up with a fix.  It takes some work but it does get connector and chrome up and running.  Here are the steps I go thru.

  • Install Connector and the connector profile on the local machine.
  • Stop the Chrome processes on the machine.
  • Unpin Chrome from the taskbar and delete the shortcut from the desktop.
  • Repin Chrome and go into properties adding --remote-debugging-port=9222 --force-renderer-accessibility to the end of the Target settings.
  • Do the same for the desktop shortcut
  • We use rapidIdentity so I have to do the same for that shortcut as well

This has worked for me, but if someone has a better solution I am all ears.

Best regards,

Michael
