Question

error 6410 when importing an LST file

asked on September 19, 2018

I have tried making every modification I can to get this to import to no avail. I have the LST file which when trying to import creates the folder structure, a corrupt LF document, and chooses the correct template and populates the fields. I can open the images in Windows picture viewer and other applications without issue. The original files are multipage tiff files with jpg compression. I have converted these to every format I can think of to keep them multipage. I have converted to PDF and then back to TIFF with LZW compression, TIFF with JPEG to TIFF with LZW. No matter what I do I receive the same error on import. But I can drag and drop every converted image into Laserfiche Client and it imports the image without any issues at all. I am at a loss for what I might be doing wrong. I am using LF 10.3.1 as well and prior to updating to the latest LF Client earlier it was using 10.1 with the same issue. I am attaching a ton of screenshots I took for reference.

The path to the image must be wrapped in quotes if the path contains commas.

For others encountering similar issues, here are two tools to help troubleshooting:

1. Enable LFSO tracing from Help->About->Tracing, restart the client, reproduce the problem. Open the trace file and search for the error code (6410 in this case). There should be more information to clarify what the problem is. Make sure to turn of tracing when you are done.

2. Use Process Monitor to monitor LF.exe and ensure that the LST file is opening the correct files.
