Question

Column View - "Path"

asked on September 19, 2018

When going into my "Starred" area, I can have multiple folders starred with the same name from different departments. It can get a little confusing picking the right folder.

I was hoping to add the column "path", but i can't seem to pick it when i'm in the star area. Am i doing something wrong, or is there a different way to enable it?

When you're in the "Starred" section, right-click the column header area and there is an option for Path.

I'd love to stay that works, but i don't have that option on mine. That's why i went into "more" to see if it was there, but it's not. Any other thoughts on how to bring it back would be awesome as i used to be able to have path as a column.

That screenshot was taken from within the “Starred” section? The Path option does not show up when you’re in the normal folders.

I hate to bring an old thread back to life but I have a client who wants this capability. If I "Star" a document and right-click on a column there is no option to select Path. My client version is 11.02201.233. Is this a feature that was taken away? Or is there another way to do it?

I just tried it with version 11.0.2301.262 and Path is there as a column option when you are looking at your Starred folder.

I had just figured that out and was deleting my post right as you hit reply.

It's so weird that this is the only section you can select Path in. The reason I needed to do this is so I could export the XML for the 'Starred' section and paste it into the user's 'Search' section so that when they do a search in Weblink the Path shows up in the results. It works!

I just didn't know what the column code for Path was and this was the only way I could figure it out. It happens to be "H" I guess because "P" is already used for Page Count.

Is this stuff in the Administration guide or something? I guess I'm just inept at searching because it seems like this has to be documented somewhere.

You can also select Path in Search Results. There is really no reason to show it anywhere else because when you are browsing folders you can see the Path above the Folder panes in both the Windows and Web Clients.

I tried looking for 'Path' from the Search screen but didn't think to try to do it from the actual Search results themselves. LOL! Ok, at least I'm learning how to use the UI finally. smiley

This is fixed in the 10.3 client (bug# 155704). Note that you need to update your LF server to >= 10.3 to use the 10.3 client.
