Question

Question

Educational Users and Form Domain log in.

asked on September 18, 2018

My users would like to log into forms by typing in their windows ad credentials but not have to enter in a domain name.

From what I understand, if forms is authenticating via Laserfiche Server, then this is easy to set up in the forms configuration page.

My issue is that I have Educational users and they have to be set up to authenticate through LFDS. Under that setting my only options are setting up a non-AD Laserfiche user on LFDS or using the windows authentication button and then the user types it in the browser authentication prompt.

They really just want to type into the main login prompt. If possible they would also like me to remove the blue windows auth button altogether.

is this possible?

May I ask why they do not want to use the Windows Authentication option? If they are not within the internal network, would AD FS meet their needs?

As for your specific requests:

  1. The Single-Sign On page does require a domain if you want to type in your windows credentials. I have put a feature request on our backlog, especially since Forms and Web Access support this when you are not using SSO, but know why they don't use Window Authentication would be very helpful
  2. At the moment, we don't have a built-in way to remove the Windows Authentication button, but it is possible to make modifications to the SSO page to hide it yourself. I'll see if I can get details from someone who has performed this customization

The ability to hide/show authentication options on the SSO page is already on our radar; I'll link back to this page so we know to keep you updated.

The school in question does not use a Windows Server AD.  They exclusively use Macs for all their workstations.  We are currently trying out the 10.4 SAML option. Thanks for your response!
