Web Access Client URL for Electronic files not working for PDFs

When using the following URL format:

http://[ServerName]/laserfiche/ElectronicFile.aspx?db=Main&id=234379&mode=Export

to view/download a PDF in Laserfiche, users get an error:

The Laserfiche 10.3 web server has encountered an error and could not complete your request.

If the problem persists, please contact your administrator.

 

This URL is created with the Workflow Generate Web Access URL activity with the "If entry is an electronic document: Export and download" set.

 

If I change this to "open in document viewer", then it works fine since PDFs are supported in Web Access 10.3.

 

Why doesn't the electronic file export link work? This seems like a bug since the PDF is an electronic file still.

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Do you get this error with everyone or just selected people?  You show that you have the action being to export and download.  Have you verified that the groups/people trying to see the document have export rights in Admin Console?

Thanks for the thought. This impacts everyone, even me as an admin with all sorts of rights.

Laserfiche will treat the PDF the same as an image file if you generated LF Pages on import. So in that case you could try the following as your URL and see if it works

https://ServerName/laserfiche/docview.aspx?db=dbName&id=EntryID
