Yesterday and Today Report Filter Variables in Forms?

asked on September 14, 2018 Show version history

I have a report that I am scheduling and I want to add a filter to pull all of the instances that started the previous day that are not in a specific stage.

Is there a way to use a Yesterday variable to do that?

Using Forms 10.3.1.

Hi, We have supported more customisable filter ranges for reports on Forms 12.

You can see other changes from: Laserfiche 12 Changelog

Get Laserfiche Forms 12 package from: Laserfiche 12 - Downloads

Hi Blake,

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, we don't support filter by "Yesterday" variable in our report filter.

We do have the "Today" variable filter and the set up is in the report configuration page and filter configuration dialog. By setting the "start date is in Today" will filter out all the instances that are not started on today. Then the scheduling report will only include instances that are started today. Hopefully this is helpful. :)

Here is an example of this:

About the "Yesterday" filter variable, could you please share some user cases with the team? So we can put it into our backlog items and discuss the feature in the future development.

Best,

Yes, we have a request from a client that wants to automate 2 reports. The first report is to show all instances that were started 'Today'. I was planning on doing exactly what you described above for that report.

The second report is to show all instances that were started 'yesterday' that have not completed. If there was a 'yesterday' variable I would use that and then also include the possible end events.

For now I think we are going to need to tell them that we can do the entire week and they can sort the spreadsheet accordingly.

It would be really useful if we could have a more dynamic option like the last X amount of days as well.

Hey Blake,

Did you ever find a solution for your reporting needs?

I would like to use some variable value in the same manner but mine would be everything submitted before this month based on a Date of Service value.

We have a similar request where date calculation would be helpful in the Reporting Filters.

Users would like to report on instances that started in the last month (every month).

Date "is after" and "is before" requires picking specific dates.  Any kind of function or variables like Today or DateAdd(Today - x days) would enable the report to be written once and scheduled instead of manually picking the dates each run.

Looks like the Yesterday filter option isn't available as of Forms 11.0.2311.50553. It would also be nice if there was an option to say "In the Last X days".

Hi Blake,

We do have a feature request[306392] on this, and we plan to support more options including "In the Last X days", but I can't guarantee you when it will be ready. Please keep an eye on the future releases, thanks.
